On July 21, 2026, at approximately 12:10 p.m., a vehicle travelling northbound on Allowance Avenue SE towards 9 Street SE failed to negotiate a turn and collided with a light pole. The vehicle's sole occupant, an 18-year-old driver, was transported to hospital with minor injuries.

The Medicine Hat Police Service (MHPS) Traffic Unit continues to investigate the collision. Investigators have determined that impairment was not a contributing factor.
