The Medicine Hat Police Service (MHPS) has charged two individuals in connection with a break and enter at Athletic Park that resulted in the theft of property belonging to the Medicine Hat Mavericks Baseball Club.
On June 28, 2024, at approximately 2:30 a.m., unknown persons unlawfully entered Athletic Park, located at 1 Birch Avenue SE, and stole numerous items of value belonging to the Medicine Hat Mavericks Baseball Club. The break and enter was discovered later that morning and reported to MHPS.
Following an investigation, officers identified two suspects who were located and arrested during the evening of June 28. The arrests led to the recovery of property stolen during the incident.
As a result of the investigation, 21-year-old Theason Marthaller and 24-year-old Aurora Berridge-Taylor, both of Medicine Hat, were each charged with break and enter and committing theft under $5,000. Marthaller was also charged with breaching a release order.
Both accused were held for judicial interim release hearings. Berridge-Taylor was released on a release order and is scheduled to appear in Medicine Hat Provincial Court on July 21, 2026. Marthaller was remanded into custody pending his next court appearance on June 30, 2026, in Medicine Hat Provincial Court.
