On June 15, 2026, at approximately 2:17 p.m. members of the Medicine Hat Police Service responded to a report of a missing child at Echo Dale Regional Park.

At approximately 3:30 p.m., the child was later located and transported to hospital by Emergency Medical Services. The family of the 11-year-old child have been notified, and the circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.

Our thoughts are with the child’s family, classmates, school staff, and all those affected by this serious incident. Out of respect for the privacy of the child and the family, no further details will be released at this time.
