MVC - Injury

Emergency services personnel have responded to a Motor Vehicle Collision on Dunmore Road near the Trans Canada Highway.  The southbound lanes of Dunmore Road from Ross Glen Drive to the TC Highway have been temporairly closed.  Please plan an alternative route.

Update - November 11, 2021 – High Risk Incident

The Medicine Hat Police continue to investigate the high risk incident that occurred in the 300 block of 7th St SW in Medicine Hat on the early morning hours of November 11, 2021. The parties involved in this incident were known to each other and there is no ongoing risk to the community.

Police have issued arrest warrants for,

  • Jeremiah Amero (31) for aggravated assault and numerous weapons offences.

 

  • Chad Richard Lentz (42) for aggravated assault.

Police are also looking to locate a 2014 black Mercedes GLK with Alberta licence CJF5736 which is believe to be involved. Police are asking for any assistance of the public regarding the location of these individuals or vehicle. These subjects should be considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached and 911 should be called immediately.

Vehicle Mischiefs

On the morning of November 10th, the Medicine Hat Police received several reports of punctured and/or slashed tires on vehicles throughout the Southeast Hill area of the city.  These random occurrences happened throughout the prior evening, resulting in several thousands of dollars in damages. 

A thorough investigation ensued, which culminated in 4 individuals, including 3 young offenders, being arrested and charged.  Each individual was charged with 13 counts of Mischief Damage Under $5000. 

The names of all accused’s will not be released as per the provisions set forth under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

High risk incident / Road closure

November 11, 2021 – High Risk Incident

At approximately 0200 a.m. members of the MHPS were called to a high-risk violent incident in the 300 block of 7th St SW. Members of the Major Crimes Section are currently on scene investigating the events that transpired. At this time, there is no risk to the public as it is believed this was an isolated incident. Due to the nature of the event, the MHPS has closed the road in the 300 block of 7th St SW, while the investigation continues. The public is requested to avoid this area.

No further information will be released until more information is available.

Homicide Investigation

A 53-year-old Medicine Hat man has been charged with murder following the death of his domestic partner.

On October 25th, 2021, at approximately 5:45 PM members of the Medicine Hat Police Service (MHPS) attended to a residence in the zero hundred block of 3rd Street SE after receiving a 9-1-1 call. Upon arrival police and EMS personnel located a deceased 53-year-old female and a male was arrested and held in custody.

The MHPS Major Crimes Section and Forensic Identification Unit continued the investigation which led to Timothy Faulkner, 53 years old, of Medicine Hat, Alberta being charged with Second Degree Murder. A Judicial Interim Release Bail Hearing was held, and Faulkner was subsequently remanded into custody and scheduled to appear in court on October 27, 2021.

While the investigation is ongoing, there is no further risk to the community.

Our condolences are extended to the family of the victim, and support is being provided by the MHPS Victims Assistance Unit. The family has asked for privacy during this difficult time.
