On June 8, 2026, at approximately 6:01 p.m., members of the Medicine Hat Police Service (MHPS), along with emergency services, responded to a single-vehicle collision involving a motorcycle on the eastbound lanes of the Trans-Canada Highway near Redcliff.
Initial investigation indicates the rider was travelling eastbound when they lost control of the motorcycle and entered the ditch separating the eastbound and westbound lanes. The motorcycle travelled in the ditch for approximately 350 feet before coming to a stop.
The rider was transported to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Speed is believed to have been a contributing factor in the collision, and the incident remains under investigation.
